Although The Merrimon-Wynne House hosts small audiences, families, and more today, the house was originally built as a private residence for Augustus S. Merrimon, a Chief Justice for the North Carolina Supreme Court.

After later serving as the residence of Peace College president W.C. Pressly from 1935 to 1965, the house was acquired by the state, followed by the developers of Blount Street Commons. Today, the owners are a brother and sister team on a mission to provide guests with a magical experience.
